I need to pour boiling water into some sort of sealable container

I have medical need of distilled water and boiled water. The boiled water should stay basically clean post-boiling but does need to cool. The problem is that i have pharaoh ants in my condo. So if I leave the water in the kettle until it cools, there will be ants floating in it by then. I need some kind of container that I can pour boiling water into and then pour boiling water out of. It needs to close so dust/ants/etc. don't get in.

I bought an iced-tea dispenser thing that is basically a mason jar with a spigot. i assumed if it was for making iced tea it could take boiling water. But the first thing you find when you open the box is a warning not to pour hot liquid in it. Fail.

I just tried a giant actual-for-canning mason jar, because I thought those were made for heat. I am now hiding across the condo in case it explodes because it cracked when I poured the water in. (Bonus question: how long should i stay back before it's safe?).

If I can't find a way to boil and keep water I will have to use distilled water only, which isn't crazy expensive, but boiled water is cheaper and also, it's a giant PITA to constantly be buying giant jugs of distilled water.

The distilled water comes in plastic jugs that get a little melty if I pour in boiling water and also they're not made for that so I worry about what is leaching into the water.

Oh...and It's fine to identify the product type I need on Amazon, but I would like something I can either buy locally or order from a non-U.S. source.
