How to get the fragrance off of books?

| I get library books home delivered once every 14 days. Unfortunately, the books often smell so strongly of fragrance/perfume/bodyspray from other library users that I can't read them without getting a migraine. Is there a way to de-fragrance books? Should I be putting them in a box next to a container of charcoal, or bicarb soda, or something else |
