How do I find good guided archaeological tours near Naples?

I'm planning to visit Italy with my mother (who is 70 years old and moderately mobile) in October/November of this year, and I could use some advice on finding tours. Our current plan is 10-14 days in Rome, Florence, and the Naples area. We don't want to do a guided tour the entire time, but for the Naples area we'd both like to visit Pompeii/Herculaneum and definitely want to go in a group with an expert guide. Are there any good "local tours" for English speakers and how do I find out about them?

On our previous trip to Greece we did an EF Go Ahead bus tour which worked well for all the places we visited, but it was expensive, felt kind of rushed and the guide was only okay. The closest itinerary they have to what we want is the Off-Season Italy tour, but I wanted to look into other options. Ideally we could book a 2 or 3 day tour where we could take a bus from a central hotel in Naples to Pompeii, Herculaneum and other local areas. We also might be interested in a 2-3 day tour in Rome if the guides are good. My mom can walk 1-2 miles a day (I am in slightly better shape) and trains are fine but she gets stressed out by busy metro stations.

When I search online I find a lot of no-name tours on sites like TripAdvisor, but I'm not sure how to find tours with actually good guides who know a lot about archaeology and history. I read through the most recent question about Pompeii and it had some good advice, but didn't really get into the tours specifically. If anyone knows about specific tours or has advice for finding the good ones online, I would appreciate it. Thanks!
