The new M4 MacBook Air is quite an upgrade in terms of performance, as Apple has equipped the device with the same chip that powers the MacBook Pro. While the performance can be the same on paper, the real-world experience could be a lot different, as the 'Air' does not have a proper thermal solution to prevent CPU throttling.

According to findings, the M4 MacBook Air scored a whopping 54,846 in Geekbench 6 Metal benchmarks, revealing that its performance will be pretty comparable to that of the 10-core M4 MacBook Pro, which also features more or less the same core count. However, as we mentioned earlier, real-world performance could be very different since the 'Air' does not have a fan to keep the device cool during extended workloads and gaming.
