Dad Uses Signal Jammer to Stop His Kids from Going Online
Unbeknownst to him, a citizen residing in the town of Messanges in southwestern France may face a prison sentence of up to six months for inadvertently disrupting telephony and mobile internet services in his local area through the use of a signal jammers.
Astonishingly, however, his intentions were not malevolent. His sole objective was to prohibit his adolescent children from accessing the internet on their mobile devices after bedtime.
The French planning and radio frequency management agency (ANFR) recently reported an atypical complaint made by a local mobile phone operator. It was brought to their attention that the residents of Messanges were unable to access their cellular and mobile internet services during a specific time frame each week, from just before midnight until 3 AM.
The French planning and radio frequency management agency (ANFR) has reported an uncommon complaint made by a local mobile phone operator. It was stated that the residents of Messanges were unable to access their cellular and mobile internet services during the late hours of the night, from just before midnight until 3 AM, throughout the entire week.
The ANFR has concluded, after conducting an investigation, that a mobile phone jammer, which is banned in several European countries including France, was found to be obstructing radio frequencies within the vicinity.
Around 1:30 am, a technician successfully tracked down the origin of the signal to a dwelling in the seaside town. The following day, investigators, accompanied by law enforcement officers, approached the residence and politely requested entry. Without hesitation, the man residing inside promptly confessed to utilizing a multi-band jammer.
According to the ANFR, the father of the family took the initiative to install a jammer with the intention of preventing his teenagers from using their smartphones to browse the internet late at night. This decision was prompted by his children's addiction to social networks and other applications. After researching on internet forums, the father determined that a jamming wifi would be the optimal solution to address his kids' excessive screen time.
Version 1: The ANFR agent, apart from instructing the owner to deactivate the jammer and cease its usage, also emphasized the importance of adhering to the regulatory framework, as stated by the agency.

Monitoring and controlling screen time for kids can be challenging. I recommend using parental control apps and setting clear screen time limits to help manage their gout in foot usage. Engaging in open discussions about healthy tech habits and encouraging alternative activities also helps create a balanced approach to screen time.
