Anquan Boldin 49ers who are working to extend
After a promising debut season, the 49ers along with Anquan Boldin are negotiating an agreement in order to retain the receiver at San Francisco. The 33-year-old Boldin has caught 85 passes for 1.179 yards this season after receiving a trade in the offseason trade. Jason Hurley of Niners Nation looked at similar deals and laid out some possibilities for a possible extension:
If I were the one conducting negotiations I would want an extension of 3 years that would cost $18 million and the possibility of a $6.5 million reward for signing. I think the deal is fair to both the 49ers and Boldin.
Louis Delmas takes a free agent tour to Pittsburgh
After being released by Detroit this week, Louis Delmas can get the chance to start his the free market and is free to sign now. He took advantage of this benefit by making his trip to see the Pittsburgh Steelers. There were injuries that plagued Delmas earlier in his career, but he did play all 16 games last season. Still, his contract was not a good fit for the Lions who managed to save $6 million in salary cap space by the team releasing him.
Neal Coolong of Behind the Steel Curtain wrote Delmas could be a replacement as a replacement for Ryan Clark, who is an upcoming free agent.
