The athletes themselves even speak out about their ratings in order to bring the debate to a higher level. Durant did so earlier this week, and so did an old teammate from Klay Thompson. Both seemed unhappy about their latest results to say the least.It's my theory that game designers use this technique for a reason. They make ratings that are just controversial enough to stir up controversy without ruining the game's integrity. By doing this, they create a buzz about their new game in the hopes that more people buy it.
In that sense, it seems like I'm doing exactly the same thing as the team at NBA 2K want right now. And, of course, what else could we discuss? Regardless of their motivations, the NBA 2K team released its newest game with its player ratings this week. That includes Brooklyn's 2022-23 roster. As expected, a few of their ratings were somewhat off, perhaps in a way that was disrespectful.
