There's been no announcement on when the film will be released, who the director is, or story.There is a variety of reports as to the exact nature of the project but it appears that Gran Turismo is getting some kind adaptation. It was reported that Sony is eyeing the District 9 producer Neill Blomkamp to helm a Gran Turismo film.
It's still unclear what the story would be. There were reports that Sony announced that they were working on a Gran Turismo show was in production, but it's possible that the report was false and Sony meant that it was a film and only a film. It's clear that something is happening and it's confusing fans.
