While the effect of these modifications remains to be evaluated it is clear that they are some of the strongest that any studio has implemented to prevent external abuse of its system for profit. If they are successful, similar steps might be found in the MMO area in the near future.
Jagex is announcing that, after 18 years as the main PvP battleground, Duel Arena will be ending its presence in RuneScape and a new zone has been added. RuneScape is set to launch Het's Oasis that will have a brand new landscape, new skilling methods, and two new mini-quests you can try.
The game will begin today with Oasis Restoration, players will be tasked for the creation of the Duel Arena following a cataclysmic earthquake that has devastated the area. Players must cooperate to turn the ruins of the arena from "a bloody pit for fighting in which heroes have long staked their wealth in one-on-one matches and a peaceful oasis."
The players will work to rebuild the area and perform daily tasks which earn them rewards according to their performance. People who participate in the community event will receive special event rewards like a brand-new the crocodile's pet, a title armored clothing with a desert theme, and Gators' shoes.
After the two-week community event The rebuilt area will be called Het's Oasis , a place for learning and exploration that includes the latest content on skills and techniques for those looking to boost their Agility, Hunter , and farming abilities.
"Heroes can also aid The God of Death in two Eye of Het mini-quests as they investigate Het's tomb in search of an enthralling item that will help the gods who are young as part of the Elder God Wars saga," the press release reads.
