The TTRPG will include an extravagantly illustrated, hardback book that contains rules for players to play a RuneScape tabletop game of roleplaying, in which they build the characters of their choice, explore Gielinor and create unique adventurous quests. The TTRPG core book is also fully compatible with the rules of the fifth edition of the roleplaying tabletop game.

Steamforged Games has also shared the first image and details for its Dark Souls tabletop roleplaying game to be launched in spring 2022. First teased in December with a surprise trailer premiere Steamforged has now confirmed Dark Souls: The Roleplaying Game will be a standalone RPG powered by fifth-edition rules enhanced with Dark Souls mechanics.

Based on the rich lore and award-winning gameplay of the Dark Souls video games by From Software and Bandai Namco Entertainment within the lavishly illustrated, hardback book, players will discover custom character classes with a brand-new system of magic and a comprehensive bestiary packed with Dark Souls creatures.

Since its launch, Steamforged's Dark Souls tabletop range has sold over 500,000 units and has a the total value of almost $40m. Mat Hart, Creative director and chief creative officer of Steamforged Games, stated: "Dark Souls has been an important IP for Steamforged from the beginning and one very close to our hearts. Therefore, to finally bring Dark Souls to the tabletop as a game for roleplaying is hugely exciting both for us and the gamers."
