A winery owner learned his vineyard has been destroyed by an out-of-control bushfire after he saw a home on his property explode on TV while he sought refuge at a cafe. Firefighters are continuing to battle the wildfire in Bunyip State Park, 65km east of Melbourne, after lightning sparked the intense blaze on Friday night. Owner of Jinks Creek Winery, Andrew Clarke, was seeking refuge with his wife Abigal and other terrified locals at a Bunyip cafe on Sunday when he saw his property engulfed in flames on the news, The Sydney Morning Herald reported.

He was left dying in the street after being beaten over the head by the group armed with weapons in a suspected revenge attack. A passing ambulance scared off the attackers when they saw the horrific assault and rushed the victim to hospital where he died just hours later. Three men were found guilty of killing Mr Serbu at the Old Bailey on Monday and have been be jailed for a total of 64 years.

A homeless man was caught on CCTV killing a disabled charity worker with a single punch. The footage showed Marc Bennison, 37, striking Christopher Shipway in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, on August 25 last year. The two men had been involved in argument before the incident turned violent on Old Market Place. Bennison had asked Mr Shipway for cash but he refused and swore at him, the court heard. The argument had intensified after Mr Shipway apparently challenged Bennison about living on the streets and told him he didn’t have to.
A nightclub owner and a security guard are lucky to be alive after a knife-wielding thug stabbed them outside a pub in Victoria. Ricky Rose-Mooring, 25, stabbed the two men after he was kicked out of St James nightclub in Geelong about 3.45am last March, The Geelong Advertiser reported. Shocking CCTV footage captured the moment when the 25-year-old plunged the knife into the bouncer's chest before stabbing the owner in the back moments later.
